For diving enthusiasts Powell River is a treasure; you can shore dive from our beach or take a short trip by boat
to Dinner Rock where lies the wreck of the passenger ship "Gulf Stream".
Atrevida Loop, part of a network of trails, is readily accessible at the junction of Atrevida Road and Highway 101. It is a
5km moderate hike through lush forest. A short drive north past Atrevida Road is Dinner Rock Park; an easy climb brings you
to the lookout and the spectacular views over Savary Island.
Kayaking is a peaceful way
to travel to the nearby Savary and Harwood islands, and the flowers on
small, rocky Vivian Island in early summer are exquisite. Boat
excursions are available and we would be happy to assist you with
arranging a tour. This is the "Gateway to Desolation Sound"
- the stunning coastline and magnificent landscapes are not to be
